Happy Holidays from Radio Shock

It's the gift that I keep on giving... year after year: the Radio Shock holiday album, "SnoWave." This year I've put all the tracks up on last.fm for you to hear, and the lead track, that wintertime classic written by Teenage Jesus and The Jerks, "Orphans," can be downloaded for you to add to your Christmas mix at the family get-together.

http://www.last.fm/music/Radio+Shock/SnoWave

There are even a few real copies of the 100-copy CD left too, just email me if you need one. I'd also intended to make the MP3 version available in time for Christmas too, but the Amazon system apparently works a little too slow for it to make it in time. The good news however is that it got approved, so they didn't recognize the cover songs! Hooray! And there's always next Christmas. MP3s: the gift that says "sorry I didn't get you a real gift."

Just keep refreshing this link until it appears:

I would also like to officially announce a new Radio Shock service: The Radio Shock Mailing List!

That is: the actual physical mailing list. Yes, if you would like to get real stuff delivered by a living postman from Radio Shock, then reply to this email address, put "Radio Shock mailing list" in the subject, and give me your actual, physical address where you receive mail. You will get writings and updates, you may get photos, stickers, buttons, xeroxes, who knows!

************

Upcoming shows:

January 27th at Death By Audio in Brooklyn
February 13th at the International Noise Conference in Miami Beach, Florida

Happy holidays everyone!!!

Radio Shock at MARKET HOTEL fri Aug.28th w much other awesomeness

I'd be at this show even if I wasn't playing. Seriously. HEAD MOLT?! With THE BERMUDA TRIANGLES?! and SOME OTHER BANDS I'VE HEARD OF?

But really, Head Molt and Bermuda Triangles are both on tour from Richmond, VA. Both represent some of the freakiest, scummiest, and brilliantest muzik-noize that's happening right now. Plus some other bands who I believe are often held in high regard. I look forward to finding out what these dudes are all about: Telecult Powers, Chaos Majik, Matteah Baim. Plus RADIO SHOCK.

Friday, August 28th, MARKET HOTEL
1142 Myrtle Ave. (at B'way, JMZ train to Myrtle)
Brooklyn, NY 11221

doors at 8PM

End of Irony published an interesting interview here:

and UltraMegaSound wrote a "review" of my recent show at Noise!2009.
Also very interesting:

****** in other news ******

RADIO SHOCK mp3s can now be purchased on popular consumer site AMAZON.COM

The latest album "RAGE158" and the live ep, "AT THE TANK" are

****** No-Core in person ******

Some of you may have already known that I do a blog and podcast
wherein I tell people what's good and what they ought to be listening
to. It's called NO-CORE. The brand new (still revising the design)
website is up at http://www.no-core.net

I will be representing No-Core this Saturday, July 11th, 4PM to
midnight, at the NY Eye & Ear Fest record fair! (at 92YTribeca, 200
Hudson at Canal St.) Admission to the record fair is completely free.
I'll be selling some Radio Shock stuff (of course) and also some cool
distro stuff from Malleable Records and Badmaster Records and more.

There are also some music shows that are part of the fest which cost
money but are totally worth checking out. More details:

Radio Shock at Cake-Shop Thurs.May 7th

Radio Shock will be playing a very cool show at the Cake-Shop in
Manhattan this Thursday, May 7th.

This is one of their monthly "Pogo in Togo" weird-music parties, and I
don't really know what that means, but I'm about to find out! Also
playing will be Love Like Deloreans, Dearling Physique, and Yatagarasu
- 8-bit/grindcore dude on tour from Texas. Plus DJ and video and CAKE.

152 Ludlow St.

Doors at 8:00, Radio Shock goes on at 8:45

This is a good opportunity to catch a Radio Shock show, the other acts
should be great, the venue is one of the best, they have cappuccino
and treats (and booze). Awesome times all-round.

RadioShock side project 2NITE @ DBA Bkln

HOT WAR is playing at DEATH BY AUDIO tonight, TUES JAN 13th.
49 S. 2nd St. (betw. Kent and Wythe) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
(L to Bedford or JMZ to Marcy)
with: Realax, City Center, Casper Electronics, Nonhorse

Show "starts" at 8, we should play by 9 at the latest. The rest of the acts fall vaguely into the categories of psychedelic-noise-rock and cracked electronics. In other words, it should be a slightly inappropriate and totally fun mix.

The RADIO SHOCK email list will not be used for any more HOT WAR announcements, so if you'd like to stay updated about this other band of mine, you can do one of 3 things:

Reply to this email and ask to be added to the HOT WAR email list, or
Go to http://hotwar.blogspot.com and use the links on the right to subscribe to updates,
either by email, or using a feed reader.

Thanks!
