RADIO SHOCK holiday show THURS + more news

RIDICULOUS HOLIDAY / VIDEO GAME / FEAST / MUSIC SHOW

RADIO SHOCK will be part of the Babycastles Holiday Party: Abusive Games Julefrokost

Thursday, DEC.23rd, 7:00pm - 1:00am at
Showpaper 42nd Street Gallery
217 East 42nd Street
New York, NY

I can't even begin to describe this myself, so I will paste the description I received at the bottom of this update. I will try to do some of my holiday songs at this event, if I can relearn them.

**********
RADIO SHOCK on BANDCAMP!

Several Radio Shock albums can be streamed in high quality and free of charge at this great site:

http://radioshock.bandcamp.com

You can also buy and download the digital albums in whatever format you might like. I set the prices pretty low and the physical versions of these are all out of print, so get 'em while they're hot. Or just listen as much as you want.

**********
The band BEFORE Radio Shock

I also added to bandcamp the one album by the band which preceded Radio Shock, COCK ROBOT. This band was formed in Syracuse, NY and featured myself, Carl Diehl, and Toaster. I still really like our album, ELECTRIC YOUNG MEN, which I've made available here:

http://cockrobot.bandcamp.com

This one you can download for free! Happy holidays! Just click the BUY NOW and enter a ZERO in the "Name Your Price" field. You can pay for it if you want, but seriously, it's cool, have it for free. I insist. There was also a Cock Robot split 7" and a few unreleased tracks, so they may show up there in the future.

"A Julefrokost is a feast of epic proportions. It's expected to last six hours or more, so guests must be interesting, or at least entertaining, especially when intoxicated. Picky eaters and mean drunks are not ideal invitees."

Please enter for free if you need to! But a $5 - $10 donation is highly encouraged & appreciated. Eat traditional Julefrokost food, with Danish booze and candy!

Radio Shock in Miami, Hot War in NYC Feb.4th

The annual International Noise Conference is almost here, and I just finalized travel plans, so both RADIO SHOCK and the other band I'm in, HOT WAR, will be performing on Saturday, Feb.13th at that event.

http://www.last.fm/event/1392306+International+Noise+Conference

This insane "conference" takes place in Miami, Florida, so anyone getting this message is probably either already going or can't make it - but there's plenty of time to make your flight reservations for 2011! Over 100 freaky noise bands play for 15 minutes each over 3 days, for free, at a place called Churchill's.

The full schedule will be posted here:
http://squelchers.net/inc.htm

**********

also... HOT WAR is playing a warm-up show in Manhattan, tomorrow, Thursday Feb.4th!

Alphabet Lounge
104 Ave. C (at 7th St.)
NYC, NY

Also playing this event is the amazing and highly recommended band PARANOID CRITICAL REVOLUTION (twisty-turny no-wave/noise-rock), as well as a math-rock band and a techno group. Might be weird. The schedule looks something like this:

8pm Jay Double Okay (myspace.com/jaydoubleokay)
9pm The 1000 Year Plan (myspace.com/1000yearplan)
10pm Hot War (www.hotwar.net)
11pm The Paranoid Critical Revolution (myspace.com/theparanoidcriticalrevolution)

And these times are likely to be pretty accurate. Except PCR may go on earlier. HOT WAR plays a short set.

RadioShock @ awesome show TONITE in Brooklyn 1/27 DBA

I just opened my email this morning and saw the sweet attached virtu-flyer for tonight's show. Very nice. Very appropriate.

TONIGHT, Wed. Jan. 27th: a show I am totally thrilled to be a part of:

at DEATH BY AUDIO
49 S. 2nd betw. Kent and Wythe
showtime: 9PM start

featuring Brooklyn local noise/rock heroes WHITE SUNS,

RADIO SHOCK
which may or may not feature back-up dancers and special surprises.

And these 2 super-amazing bands from Philadelphia:

DRUMS LIKE MACHINE GUNS
will feature swirling noise, headbanging action, high-fives, and yes, drums like machine guns, probably all within 15 minutes.

and NERVOUS SEX
who make noise-rock that's actually rock songs crafted out of noise.

Also MY MIND
about whom I know nothing.

**********

NOISE PARTY WEEK CONTINUES:

Hot tip: The very next night, the 28th at Death by Audio is another great show featuring DOGSYNTH and FORM A LOG, which is a sort of super-group of amazing people I know from other bands which blow my mind. Also recommended.
