The holiday season has been crazy. This message probably should have gone out 2 weeks ago, but at least it's happening before Christmas day.
*** NEW FREE SONG and TUNES TO HEAR ***
I created the theme song for this year's La Superette holiday art sale. You missed the event, but I've made the song a free download at last.fm - I'm pretty proud of this song, sounds like a cross between Radio Shock and the theme music to a Super Mario game or something. With a guitar solo even.
I also just made a few songs from my holiday album, "SNOWAVE" available for listening there! Use this link to see what you can hear:
http://www.last.fm/music/Radio+Shock/+albums
You can also listen to the entire "RAGE158" album there, and remember, I will send that entire album to anyone in MP3 format free. You just have to email me and ask. Put "Rage158" in the subject line.
*** GET SNOWAVE ***
I do have a few copies of "SnoWave" available for sale too! Limited to 100, and most were sold last holiday season. I planned on only selling these until New Year's Day, but since I'm announcing this late, I'll probably extend that through January, then if any are left, you'll have to wait until Dec.2009!
Go here:
http://nocore.bigcartel.com
You can also get a physical copy of RAGE158 there.
Some orders to the No Core store have shipped late, but fear not! Anything that goes out late gets stuffed with bonus surprises! I believe that is standard underground music etiquette, right?
*** SIDE PROJECT: HOT WAR! ***
I've formed a new band that played some debut shows recently. I play guitar and C.Myong plays the drums. Some sneak preview practice jams can be heard here:
http://www.last.fm/music/Hot+War
I recommend last.fm because of their artist-friendly policies, but there's also a MySpace and a real, honest-to-goodness web page.
http://www.myspace.com/hotwar - AND - http://www.hotwar.net
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Sincere best wishes to everyone who receives these emails and HUGE thanks to all who have supported RADIO SHOCK. I hope everyone has a fun-filled holiday, whichever one(s) you celebrate.

new RADIO SHOCK album "Rage158" (get it free) +more!
Lots of stuff for you to check out in this news release. First, there is a new RADIO SHOCK release, a limited edition CDR called "Rage158" which has been available at recent live shows. It's a little "darker" and "tougher" but I think everyone will dig it. 30 minutes and 8 tracks, including "Sick City Water" which I've been playing live for a while.
*** GET IT FREE
That's right, I will give the album to anyone in MP3 format, no charge. All you have to do is EMAIL and ask. (MP~at-RADIOSHOCK-d0t~ORG) Just put "Rage158" in the subject and you will receive a reply with a download link. That's it!
*** BUY IT
You can also get a physical copy, which is a noise-style hand-made CDR in an edition of 150. About 50 are already gone so you might want to get on it. Right now, all Radio Shock (and Roger Records) sales are through the new NO-CORE DISTRO STORE (http://nocore.bigcartel.com). There are a few other awesome and otherwise unavailable items available there as well from Unicorn Hard-On, Mincemeat or Tenspeed, Narwhalz, and Taiwan Deth. For out-of-print RADIO SHOCK stuff, I highly recommend CARBON RECORDS (http://www.carbonrecords.com/mailorder) who are even having a fall discount sale right now!
*** LISTEN
You can hear the entire Rage158 album either at LAST.FM (http://www.last.fm/music/Radio+Shock/Rage158) or at IMEEM.COM (http://www.imeem.com/radioshock/playlist/CRRrbA5A/radio_shock_rage158_music_playlist/) although you have to sign in for IMEEM.
*** LOOK
Photos from recent touring with HYLAND HOLOGRAM and DRUMS LIKE MACHINE GUNS can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/nocore/sets/72157607799653329/ No photos of RADIO SHOCK, but many photos of the people I played with and the scene down at FREEDUMB FEST.
*** UPCOMING EVENTS
If you live in NYC, put this in your calendar. October 24 will be the massive FREENOISE FEST, to be held at DEATH BY AUDIO in Brooklyn. This will be an INC-style event, with a whole ton of crazy bands playing back-to-back 15-minute sets. RADIO SHOCK is playing, and this also features the notorious and legendary noise band COCK ESP, who have not played NYC in years. WHITE MICE also, and lots more.
Thanks!

P.S. - THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL MUSIC
I'm supporting imeem.com and last.fm because they have decided to offer royalties based on ad revenue to ALL artists with music on those sites. (Especially last.fm, whose service is simple and free) UNLIKE MySpace, which just launched a new music program which pays royalties only to a few major labels with whom MySpace has signed deals. Here's a story about it: http://blog.wired.com/music/2008/04/myspace-music-w.html I'd encourage all other musicians to start pointing people to last.fm instead of MySpace to hear your music.

RADIO SHOCK : Last sec Lexington show and Freudian Slips
First of all, I incorrectly typed the name of one of the touring bands in the last email message. HYLAND HOLOGRAM, who I just saw play for the first time and are my new favorite band. Seriously. Those who noticed the error may have thought it was a Freudian Slip, but it's not true. I mistakenly used the name of an earlier proto-project which has become HYLAND HOLOGRAM.
LAST MINUTE SHOW: Lexington, KY TONIGHT! Sept. 8th
473 E. Maxwell, house show. probably around 9:30 start.
TOUR BLOG in effect.
http://mplockwood.blogspot.com
I won't be bothering everyone with mailing list messages constantly, I promise, check the blog for details instead. Just wanted to do the correction and the last second show announcement. Thanks everyone!

Carbon Records has a sale going on. http://www.carbonrecords.com/mailorder/sale.php

Radio Shock <3 Philly + Int'l Noise Conf. in NYC
Philadelphia definitely has one of the awesomest music scenes going on right now and is the place I probably feel the greatest kinship towards. So I am totally honored and happy to have Radio Shock be a part of some Philly-based musical documentation.
ON THE "RADIO":
I recently traveled down there on the New Jersey Transit to SEPTA train for a live performance on Zradio (http://www.zobnoba.com), quite likely the finest internet radio program in the country. Seriously, these cats somehow find more underground, noise-punk-garage-spazz music than you could ever have imagined existed, and they play bands about a year before you start hearing about them everywhere else. Radio Shock performed a set at the Zradio compound on April 13th, which can be found in episode 207.
Direct link to the episode: (Zradio 207)
IN PRINT:
This has been out for a while but I've neglected to mention it until now: "Everyone Is Awesome All The Time." It's a silk-screened mini-zine based on photos of some of the hottest east-coast party-noise acts playing in Philly and the surrounding area. Radio Shock also appears and I could not be more thrilled with the company I'm keeping. This is created by Mark Price and you can get a copy at http://markpriceisafactory.com/details.html
Also features brothers-in-arms: Cars Will Burn, Mugu Guymen, Caustic Castle, Mincemeat or Tenspeed, Drums Like Machine Guns, AIDS Wolf, Kyle Mabson, more!
LIVE in NYC:
You DO NOT want to miss this show, THIS SATURDAY, Apr.26th
INTERNATIONAL NOISE CONFERENCE on TOUR!!!
NEW YORK CITY
April 26th, Saturday, 1st band on at 8:30PM
at SILENT BARN
(915 Wyckoff Ave., Ridgewood, Queens. L to Halsey or M to Myrtle/Wyckoff)
(no droning, no laptops, no mixers)
featuring:
LAUNDRYROOM SQUELCHERS
BABY COBRA HEADZS (feat. member of Monotract)
NANCY GARCIA (also of Monotract)
TELLINGS
WHITE SUNS
MARK MORGAN (of Sightings)
LOUD OBJECTS
C.MYONG
WE ARE THE SEAHORSES
RADIO SHOCK
TWISTYCAT
MATT (from Talibam!) & STEVE (from King Capitol Electronics)
SLINK MOSS ORCHESTRA
Rat Bastard's insane Miami event goes on the road. There
will be some kind of money requested at the door. An amazing variety of
acts will play, including harsh noise, free jazz, live circuit soldering, video
projections, noise rock, no-wave, psychedelic, confrontational glam, etc.
etc. etc.

RADIO SHOCK news release: Exciting Upcoming Shows, etc. http://www.radioshock.org
SHOWS:
Some awesome shows are coming up.
4/6 MONTREAL at Le Cagibi
4/13 PHILADELPHIA live on Zradio
4/26 NYC at INT'L NOISE CONFERENCE on Tour
That's right, this Sunday I will be in one of my favorite places to play, Montreal Canada at a cool place called Le Cagibi. (http://www.lecagibi.ca/) Not much info at the website, but you could call the phone number for more info I suppose. Supposedly I'm playing with an act which performs Gameboy covers of AC/DC songs. Best of all, this is my birthday weekend!
Then the next Sunday I play LIVE on ZRADIO! If you don't know, Zradio is only the best radio (and podcast) program in the country, playing tons and tons of underground rock/noise/scum that you've never heard of. You should be able to hear this live online, go to http://www.zobnoba.com, or archived at that site afterwards. If you live in Philly and want to come, send me a message for details!
Coming up soon, it's the monstrous noise event from Miami, the International Noise Conference on Tour. I'll be playing the NYC stop, which takes place at the Silent Barn (http://www.myspace.com/thesilentbarn) on Sat. April 26th, along with LOTS of other amazing people. Laundryroom Squelchers headline.
WEB UPGRADES:
The website and general Radio Shock web presence has undergone some upgrades. You can now receive these news alerts with your RSS Reader if you prefer.
(Go to http://feeds.feedburner.com/radioshocknews)
Or you can get them through the Google group.
You can even follow Radio Shock on Twitter.
FUTURE RELEASES:
A new CDR of material is really, really close to finished. This will be another limited release, and speaking of which, the "Burn Down Radio" EP is just about sold out! 15 copies or so left. (Buy one at http://www.rogerrecords.com)
Not too far in the future beyond that, a split 7" is happening.

Ironing out the kinks in the blog
Radio Shock Twitter integration: genuine success.
Apologies to anyone who may be subscribed to the blog at this time, but I am working out the kinks in Radio Shock's news delivery modernization. If you are not subscribed to the blog you can do so with any of several options at http://radioshocknews.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
I am trying to get things set so that blogposts/emails will be duplicated as twitters as well. Then if you're one of them teenagers what does everything through TXTing or IM, you can follow Radio Shock on Twitter too. See http://www.twitter.com/radioshock
So for those of you who are early adopters new technology, let me share some advance news of upcoming Radio Shock appearances.
April 6th, Montreal at Le Cagibi
April 13th, Philadelphia live on Zradio
April 26th, NYC at the International Noise Conference on Tour show
Coming out sometime in the future, furrealz: RadioShock/Narwhalz split 7"
